Paul Tobey – Tinnitus and the Angry Factor

Wednesday, November 14th, 2007
Paul Tobey playing the piano

Paul Tobey is a pianist, famous in some circles but that's not the reason for writing this. He's managed to make his way through the long and enduring experience of Tinnitus.

The Tinnitus is the perception of a ringing sound in the human ear in the absence of a corresponding external sound. Although his website outputs a mostly promotional marketing content (after all, he's a professional music performer), he also shares the fruit of his own reflections after overcoming this troubling syndrome. Far from being diminished by it, he came out stronger and deserves our attention.

I sincerely recommend the reading of this article: Tinnitus and the Angry Factor

20071102 - 20 - Sydney - Optus One-Year Celebration

With the help of another co-worker, I organised a dinner in the city to celebrate the first anniversary of our work at Optus.

Even though few of us have actually worked there all that time ^^;

20071102 - 08 - Sydney - Optus One-Year Celebration - A big piece of meat in a dish

The Lowenbrau Keller restaurant, in the Rocks.

German meaty recipes are their speciality as you can tell in the picture. Good quality I guess, but I only had some veggie salad so I can’t really tell.

(re)connecting – City2Surf

Tuesday, November 6th, 2007

Alright, since I’ve neglected this blog as bad can be, let’s try to fix a few things.

First of all, I’m going to do a quick catch up with some past news. It’s like instant noodles, it’s not that much exciting but it still fulfils its purpose: to feed your appetite or your curiosity should I say!

After the City2Surf

Yosh! I knew it was going to be a long run and the brochure didn’t lie about that: 14Km!

See here the proof, a map of the track from the Sydney inner city to Bondi beach.

With more than 50.000 thousand runners and raising $1049048 for charity this year, this race has been another terrific success for the Sun-Herald and me.

Well, long story short, I came 26427th and took 115m38s to complete the race.

Medal received after finishing the City2Surf race
Yeah! :-)

Some pictures of the event are available on the official website or on the Flickr gallery.
